Thank you for reaching out to us!

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please Read Before Contacting Us

Tips N ToeBeans is a proactive, TNR-focused rescue. Our primary mission is to break the cycle of overpopulation in the Hampton Roads area through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and community cat management. By staying focused on prevention, we address the root of the problem before more lives are at risk.

Regarding Intake and Surrenders:

  • We do not have the resources, foster space, or facilities to take in kittens, pregnant cats, or owner surrenders.
  • Our work is strictly dedicated to field operations and stabilizing community colonies.|
  • Because we are a 100% volunteer-run organization, our limited administrative time is prioritized for active TNR projects.

Please Note: Inquiries regarding the intake of kittens or pregnant moms may not receive a response. We encourage you to contact your local municipal shelter or seek out specialized kitten rescues in the 757 area.

At Tips N ToeBeans, we currently have just four volunteer trappers, all of whom work full-time jobs outside of rescue work. Because of this, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding, as it may take us some time to get to every request.

If you’re interested in learning how to trap, we would be happy to teach you. If you are able to trap at your own location, we can provide all necessary supplies and prioritize your request.

We do not expect anyone requesting help to handle trapping, transporting, or recovery unless they are comfortable doing so. However, due to the high number of requests and the size of our team, please be aware that there will be a wait time.

Additionally, due to the rising costs of medical care for all the cats we assist—both friendly and feral—we can no longer cover the full expense of every TNR surgery. We do have limited funds available to help with surgeries based on need. Our goal remains to help as many community cats as possible, and we have several volunteers who can assist with trapping, transportation, and surgery recovery.

If you need help with trapping in Hampton or Newport News (Sorry we can not service other areas), we require an upfront donation of $80.00 per cat, which covers the minimum cost of a feral cat surgery.

This $80.00 includes the following services:
  • Spay/Neuter
  • Ear tip
  • Vaccines
  • Dewormer
  • Transportation
  • Post-Surgery Care

If you are still interested in our help please fill out the form in the link below to get on our waitlist.  Please be mindful that we are all volunteers and it may take several days for someone to get back to you.

Thank you again for your understanding and for supporting our mission to help community cats live safer, healthier lives.A

Most people are unaware that we are a nonprofit organization and our TNR department is run completely by volunteers. As a result, all of our surgeries are paid for by donations from the community.
