Home » The Story Behind Our Three ToeBeans

At Tips N ToeBeans, every rescue cat leaves a lasting impression on us, but none quite like Mr. Biscuits. Found hiding in a caretaker’s sunroom in Hampton, Mr. Biscuits was a timid, gentle cat with eyes full of pain. When we first saw him, we knew something wasn’t right. His eyes were shut tight in discomfort, and he seemed to be favoring one of his paws.

Gently coaxing him into a carrier, we brought Mr. Biscuits back to one of our recovery rooms. Our vet confirmed that Mr. Biscuits was suffering from a painful condition called entropion, where a cat’s eyelids turn inward, causing the lashes to rub against the cornea. This condition had already done damage to Mr. Biscuits’ eyes, causing him great discomfort and impacting his vision.

As if that wasn’t enough, Mr. Biscuits also had a severely infected toe that required immediate attention. It was so damaged that the only option was to amputate it. Thanks to the generous support of our community, we were able to raise the necessary funds for Mr. Biscuits to undergo both surgeries—his eye surgery to alleviate the pain and save his vision, and the amputation to rid him of the infection in his paw. After surgery, Mr. Biscuits was carefully cared for by multiple volunteers in our organization, each one helping him along his recovery journey.

Today, Mr. Biscuits is a happy, healthy cat with a loving forever home. Though he’s missing one toe, he’s certainly not missing out on a good life. His strength, resilience, and the love and care he received from our team inspired the design of our logo. The three toe beans in our logo honor Mr. Biscuits, reminding us of his journey and of all the cats who may not have everything, but who still live full, happy lives thanks to compassionate care.

Mr. Biscuits will forever have a special place in our hearts, and his story will continue to inspire our work at Tips N ToeBeans.
