What’s the Best Age to Adopt a Cat or Kitten?

Depending on an individual’s lifestyle, the age in which you adopt a cat is crucial

• Kittens( up to one year)- They’re playful, curious, and adorable. But kittens require more money, more training and lots of supervision. AND they still do not develop their personalities until later in this stage–IF you want a particular temperament, do not adopt a kitten! TIP: most rescues will not adopt a solo kitten under 4 months old for THEIR best overall health and life

 • Teenager( 6m-2 years)- They’re still youthful and MOST able to grow with your family as their personality begins to show vs youngsters who are still developing

 • Adult( 3-6 yrs/ 7-10yrs)- Their personality is fully developed and often adapt as well as bond very easily with trust

 • Senior(11-14 yrs)- They’re usually laid back and require less exercise, seniors are often the most grateful for a loving home. YES, they will bond with you and are often less expensive than kittens despite the preconceptions
