Breaking the Cycle of Overpopulation in Hampton, VA
At Tips N ToeBeans, we believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of humane animal welfare. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the single most effective and humane way to improve the lives of community cats and stabilize free-roaming populations, but the costs of veterinary care can quickly add up for compassionate neighborhood caretakers.
That is why we launched Operation TNR, a targeted initiative dedicated to providing low-cost or entirely free spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations for community cats whose caretakers lack the financial means to do it alone.
How Operation TNR Helps
We partner with local high-volume veterinary clinics to secure subsidized surgical packages. When you work with us through Operation TNR, each cat receives:
Spay or Neuter Surgery: Stopping the cycle of unexpected litters and reducing territorial behaviors like fighting and spraying.
Essential Vaccinations: Every cat is given Rabies and Distemper vaccinations to protect public health and the health of the colony.
The Ear Tip: A painless, mandatory left-ear tip performed under anesthesia. This is the universal sign that a community cat is fixed and protected, preventing them from being unnecessarily re-trapped in the future.
Do You Need Assistance?
If you are feeding a colony of community cats or have free-roaming cats in your neighborhood that need to be fixed, but the cost is holding you back, we are here to help. Because we operate entirely on grants and community donations, our funding for free and low-cost slots varies throughout the year, but we always prioritize those in the greatest financial need.
How it works:
Submit a Request: Fill out our brief assistance form below to tell us about the cats in your area located here: https://tipsntoebeans.com/request-help-for-your-community-cats/
Assessment: A Tips N ToeBeans volunteer will reach out to discuss your situation, current funding availability, and how we can support you.
Trapping & Transport: If approved, our team can provide the loan of humane traps, trapping guidance, and coordinate transport to and from our partner veterinary clinics.
Support Operation TNR
Tips N ToeBeans is an entirely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We have no paid staff and no physical facility, which means 100% of every dollar donated to Operation TNR goes directly to the veterinary care of a cat.
A donation of just $80 completely funds a full surgical and vaccination package for one community cat, preventing the births of dozens of homeless kittens.
